Getting started with remote teaching but worried about how to do it well? We wrote a free how-to ebook with explanations, examples, software, and hardware tips:
Remote teaching: a practical guide with tools, tips, and techniques

English: https://ecampusontario.pressbooks.pub/remotecourse/
We drew on principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, plus peer-reviewed learning literature. It’s an open education resource, so please feel free to use some, all, none, or to adapt to your own context.
There are adaptable documents for professors: syllabus, student questionnaires, conversation skills for synchronous sessions, and a Brightspace template.
The ebook has adaptable supports for students: a learning plan worksheet, wellness supports, tips for #onlinelearning, and a Growth & Goals module.
The students in our system are working toward degrees while living through a pandemic. They will graduate into a pandemic or post-pandemic world. We want to support them as well as possible, while recognizing that most of us don’t have the skills or support that we would usually have if choosing to build an online course.
